Sandy desert is also present, notably the Sharqiyah Sands in eastern Oman, which is a tourist destination for the adventurous, to experience a desert safari, and the colorfully dressed local tribes. Sandy desert also occurs along the border with the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, being the southern edge of Saudi Arabia’s Empty Quarter (Rub al Khali)
